Balochistan Earthquake Relief
Indus Motor Company was amongst the first to respond when a massive earthquake hit part of the Baluchistan province in May 2009. The calamity resulted in widespread damage and left many thousands without shelter, food or any means of survival.
With generous contributions from its own staff, IMC was able to provide relief to as many as 32 killis (villages) in the region. The aim material comprised mostly food packages, blankets, daris and tents, which an IMC team personally saw delivered by 4 Hino trucks and two 4×4 vehicles to areas about 120 km from Quetta.
The team that accompanied the distribution vehicles included IMC representatives from Karachi, staff members from Toyota Zarghoon Motors, seven soldiers from the Frontier Corp and several local helpers.
