Tsunami in Japan
Indus Motor Company responded with aid to the Japanese People as the country suffered from dual calamities of earthquake and tsunamis.
On March 11, 2011, Japan witnessed the largest earthquake of modern times with a magnitude of 8.9 on the Richter scale. Even the country best prepared for this kind of calamity came to a standstill and tsunami waves triggered by the earthquake caused major destruction across the Pacific-bordering cities of Japan. The numbers of dead and missing were staggering, while the economy, the 3rd most powerful economy in the world, faced a total loss of above US$ 100 billion.
Japan has always been in strong coalition with Pakistan and has supported us in numerous causes at the time of our need. IMC was proud to stand by the people of Japan in their difficult time and condole with the nation on the losses they suffered.
IMC also offered the Japanese nation a donation of Rs. 5,000,000 (Rupees five million), which was handed over to the Japanese Consulate in Pakistan and the Red Crescent under the intimation of Toyota Motor Corporation, Japan for the help and support of victims.
