Mohamedali R. Habib (Chairman)

Mr. Mohamedali R. Habib is the Chairman of Indus Motor Company Limited and a Founding Director of the Company. He has been a Director of Habib Metropolitan Bank Limited since 2004 and currently serves as the Chairman on the Board of Directors of the Bank. In addition, he serves as a Member on the Board of Thal Limited and a Director of the Pakistan Business Council. He was appointed Group CEO of HBZ Group in 2016. He is a Trustee of Habib University Foundation and serves as a Member of the Board of Governors of Habib University.

He graduated in Business Management–Finance from Clark University, Massachusetts, USA, in 1987 and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in General Management from Stanford–National University of Singapore.

He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) Pakistan Chapter.

Shinji Yanagi (Vice Chairman)

Mr. Shinji Yanagi was appointed as Director on the Board and the Vice Chairman of Indus Motor Company Limited in April 2021. He has been serving at Toyota Motor Corporation for over 30 years and has worked in different capacities. He has also served as President for Toyota Motor Engineering, Egypt. Mr. Yanagi has been serving as the member of the Pakistan Japan Business Forum (PJBF) since April 2021.

He has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Keio University, Japan.

Ali Asghar Jamali (Chief Executive)

Mr. Ali Asghar Jamali was appointed as Chief Executive of Indus Motor Company Limited in January 2017. He has been with the Company since October 2000 and has served in key roles in various departments, owing to which he has acquired rich experience in end-to-end management of company operations. Mr. Jamali has served as the Chairman of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association and as Member of the Managing Committee of Overseas Investor Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and has attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University, Accelerated Management Program at the Wharton School of Business and the AI-Driven Organization Program at the MIT Sloan School of Management, USA. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Imran Ali Habib (Non-Executive Director)

Mr. Imran Ali Habib joined the Board of Directors of Indus Motor Company Limited in February 2019. He is presently the Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Strategic Officer of HAB Bank in New York, USA, where he is responsible for looking after the Bank’s Management & Business Development. He began his career with Habib Bank AG, Zurich in the United Arab Emirates in 2008 where he last served as Senior Vice President, before moving to the United States in 2016.

Mr. Imran currently serves as the Chairman on the Boards of Thal Ltd. and Shabbir Tiles & Ceramics Ltd. He also serves as a Member on the Board of HAB Bank and Habib University Foundation, USA.

He is a graduate of Bryant University (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) and has attended the Program for Leadership Development and is an Alumni of Harvard Business School (USA). He is also a Member of the Young Presidents’ Organization Pakistan Chapter & Metro New York Chapter.

Muhammad H. Habib (Non-Executive Director)

Muhammad H. Habib has been a Director on the Board of Indus Motor Company Limited, since June 2020. He is a Board Member of Habib Bank AG, Zurich, Switzerland and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Habib Canadian Bank in Canada and the Habib Bank Zurich Plc in UK.

Mr. Habib is also a member of the Board of Directors of HBZ Bank in South Africa, Habib Metropolitan Bank Ltd. in Pakistan, Habib Insurance Company Ltd. in Pakistan and Gefan Finanz AG, Zug in Switzerland.

He is a Trustee of Habib Education Trust and Chancellor of Habib University. He also serves on the Global Advisory Board for Babson College, USA.

Mr. Habib studied at Collège du Léman, Geneva, and received his Degree in Finance from Babson College, USA. He is also a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization.

Asif Qadir (Independent Director)

Mr. Asif Qadir is a businessperson who has been at the helm of 6 different companies. Mr. Qadir holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, New York, USA. He has over 30 years of experience with Exxon and Engro and held positions as Worldwide Business Advisor. He joined Exxon Chemical Pakistan Limited in 1978 as a Process Engineer and held various assignments in manufacturing and marketing of fertilizers.

In his past career, he occupied the position of President and CEO of Engro Polymer & Chemicals Ltd. He has also served on the Board of Engro Corporation Ltd., Engro Fertilizers Ltd., Engro Powergen Ltd., Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company Ltd., Karachi Stock Exchange, Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, Inbox Business Technologies (Pvt) Ltd., Thal Limited and Cherat Cement Company Ltd.

He is currently serving as Director of Tripack Films Ltd., Descon Oxychem Ltd., Century Paper & Board Mills Limited, Unicol (Pvt) Ltd. and Liaquat National Hospital and Medical College.

Giri Venkatesh (Non-Executive Director)

Mr. Giri Venkatesh was appointed as Director of the Indus Motor Company Limited in February 2025. Currently, he is serving as the Vice President of Corporate Planning Division and is the Asia Chief Compliance Officer at Toyota Motor Asia. He has served in various management positions at Toyota Motor in Malaysia and Singapore.

He obtained a B.A. (Hons) Degree in Business Administration from Middlesex University, United Kingdom and a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Strategic Automotive Dealership Management from Loughborough University, United Kingdom. He is also an Accredited Director by the Singapore Institute of Directors.

Shigeki Furuya (Executive Director )

Mr. Shigeki Furuya was appointed as an Executive Director of Indus Motor Company Limited in April 2022. He has been associated with Toyota Tsusho Corporation from 1987, during which time he has held various senior positions. He has been with the Company from 1996 to 2003 and then from 2007 to 2008 and has served as an Advisor in the Product Development Department. Currently, he has been serving as Senior Director Product Development of the Company.

He is a graduate from Yamanashi University, Japan.

Riyaz T. Chinoy (Independent Director)

Mr. Riyaz Towfiq Chinoy is a seasoned Industrial Engineer from Case Western Reserve University, USA. He brings over three decades of leadership experience in Pakistan’s industrial manufacturing sector. After retiring from his corporate role in 2021, Mr. Chinoy founded Yaqin Steel Limited, a startup focused on pioneering large-scale steel production in Pakistan.

His dedication to corporate governance, sustainability education and social impact continues to shape his work and inspire his contributions across both industry and community development. He has long been involved in philanthropic efforts, particularly in education. He is also on the Board of The Citizens Foundation, SINA HealthSystems Foundation, Orange Tree Foundation, the Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Pakistan and as General Secretary to Habib Public School Alumni Association.

He currently also serves on the advisory Board of the Packages Group, ICF and on the boards of several leading companies, including Jubilee General Insurance, Bulleh Shah Packages, Packages Convertors Ltd, Starch Pack (Pvt.) Ltd and Magnus Investments Ltd. Mr. Chinoy has been a certified Independent Director, since 2007, from PICG and a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers, Pakistan.

Syeda Tatheer Zehra Hamdani (Independent Director)

Syeda Tatheer Zehra Hamdani was appointed on the Board of Directors of Indus Motor Company Limited in October, 2019. Ms. Hamdani currently serves as President’s Chief of Staff, Senior Director and Head of Student Affairs at Habib University. Ms. Hamdani began her career in the development sector in 2003, focusing on the conceptualization, design and implementation of internationally funded and government-supported projects in primary and secondary education across Sindh. In 2008, she joined the Habib University Foundation (HUF) to support the establishment of Habib University, an entrepreneurial venture that involved in establishing Pakistan’s first liberal arts and sciences university from the ground up.

Over the years, Ms. Hamdani has contributed to all aspects of the University’s development, including academic affairs, faculty recruitment, communications, external relations, student affairs, resource mobilization and international partnerships. In her current role, she works closely with the President and senior leadership team to advance institutional strategy, strengthen organizational effectiveness and support the University’s continued growth and development

Ms. Hamdani holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the Institute of Business Management, Pakistan.
